Product information
About
Grandem MD from Aristo is a mouth-dissolving tablet containing Granisetron. It is used to control nausea and vomiting, especially in patients undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy or surgery.
Uses
- Nausea due to cancer chemotherapy
- Vomiting after radiotherapy
- Post-operative nausea and vomiting
- Severe vomiting from certain medical conditions as advised
How it works
Granisetron is a 5-HT3 receptor blocker. It works by blocking the action of serotonin on specific receptors in the gut and the brain's vomiting centre, which are activated during chemotherapy and surgery. This stops the urge to vomit.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor. Place the tablet on the tongue and let it dissolve, then swallow with saliva. It can be taken with or without water.
Side effects
- Headache
- Constipation
- Mild stomach discomfort
- Weakness or dizziness
Precautions
Tell your doctor about any heart rhythm problems, low potassium, liver disease or current medicines, especially other anti-vomiting or antidepressant medicines. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should use it only if clearly advised.
Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the strip sealed until use and out of reach of children.
