About
Monit 20 from Intas contains Isosorbide Mononitrate, a long-acting nitrate. Doctors prescribe it to prevent chest pain (angina) in people with reduced blood flow to the heart.
Uses
- Prevention of angina (chest pain)

How it works
Isosorbide Mononitrate widens blood vessels in the body. This reduces the load on the heart and improves blood and oxygen supply to the heart muscle, helping prevent angina attacks.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor, swallowed whole with water. Doctors usually spread doses to leave a nitrate-free gap, so attacks are prevented without the body getting used to the medicine. This tablet does not stop an attack already happening.
Side effects
- Headache, especially in the first few days
- Dizziness or light-headedness on standing
- Flushing
- Fast heartbeat
- Low blood pressure
Precautions
Tell the doctor about low blood pressure, recent heart attack, severe anaemia or head injury. Never combine with medicines for erectile problems like sildenafil without medical advice. Do not stop suddenly.
Storage
Store below 25°C in the original strip, away from moisture and sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
