Product information
About
Zita D from Glenmark is an oral anti-diabetic tablet that combines Teneligliptin and Dapagliflozin. It is prescribed for adults with type 2 diabetes when one medicine alone is not enough to control blood sugar.
Uses
- Type 2 diabetes in adults
- Blood sugar control with diet and exercise
- Add-on when single drug is not enough
How it works
Teneligliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor that helps the body release more insulin after meals and lowers excess sugar made by the liver. Dapagliflozin is an SGLT2 inhibitor that makes the kidneys pass out extra sugar through urine, bringing blood sugar down.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually with or without food at the same time daily. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Drink enough fluids during the day.
Side effects
- Urinary or genital infections
- Increased urination
- Low blood sugar with other diabetes drugs
- Thirst or dehydration
Precautions
Not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Tell the doctor about kidney problems, low blood pressure, frequent urinary infections, pregnancy or breastfeeding. Monitor blood sugar regularly.
Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the strip in its original pack and out of reach of children.
