Eptoin from Abbott contains phenytoin, a long-trusted antiepileptic medicine used to help prevent and control seizures.

• Helps control generalised tonic-clonic seizures
• Used in focal seizures
• Sometimes used in seizures linked to brain surgery or injury

Phenytoin steadies overactive nerve activity in the brain by slowing certain electrical signals, making seizures less likely.

Take as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, ideally at the same time each day. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

• Gum overgrowth with long-term use
• Skin rash or nausea

Keep up with regular dental care and blood tests. Tell your doctor about liver issues, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or any other medicines. Avoid alcohol while on this treatment.
