Gardenal 60 mg from Abbott contains phenobarbital, a barbiturate used mainly to manage epilepsy. The 60 mg strength is a common adult dose for ongoing seizure control.

• Generalised tonic-clonic seizures
• Partial seizures
• Long-term epilepsy management
• Febrile convulsions in select cases

Phenobarbital enhances the action of GABA in the brain, which calms abnormal electrical bursts and reduces the chance of seizures.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually at the same time each day. Swallow whole with water and do not change or stop the dose on your own.

Avoid alcohol while on this medicine. Tell your doctor about liver problems, pregnancy plans or any other medicines, as phenobarbital can interact with many drugs.
