Uses

How it works
Nitroglycerin releases nitric oxide, which relaxes the smooth muscle in blood vessels. The widened vessels reduce the workload on the heart and improve oxygen supply to it.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow whole with water, do not crush or chew. Usually taken with food.
Side effects
- Headache, often easing with time
- Flushing or warmth in the face
- Dizziness or lightheadedness
- Faster heartbeat
Precautions
Avoid use with erectile dysfunction medicines like sildenafil. Inform your doctor if you have low blood pressure, glaucoma or severe anaemia. Limit alcohol.
