Sodium picosulfate is activated by natural bacteria in the colon, where it gently stimulates the bowel muscles and increases the water content of the stool, helping bring about a soft, easier motion several hours later.

Measure with the cap or spoon and take as prescribed by your doctor, usually at bedtime with water.
