Falcigo 60 mg Injection

Falcigo Injection from Zydus contains Artesunate. It is used in hospitals for the treatment of severe malaria, especially the type caused by Plasmodium falciparum.

• Severe falciparum malaria
• Cerebral malaria (malaria affecting the brain)
• Complicated malaria needing injectable therapy

Artesunate is an artemisinin-based antimalarial. It rapidly damages the malaria parasites inside red blood cells, quickly bringing down the number of parasites in the body. This helps the patient recover faster from severe malaria.

Given as an injection into a vein or muscle as prescribed by your doctor, only in a hospital or clinic setting. It is followed by a full oral antimalarial course to prevent relapse.

• Nausea or vomiting
• Headache or dizziness
• Drop in blood counts
• Delayed anaemia after recovery
• Rarely, allergic reaction

Use only under medical supervision. Inform the doctor about pregnancy, liver or kidney problems and other medicines. Patients need follow-up blood tests for a few weeks after treatment.

Store as advised on the pack, usually below 30°C, away from light and moisture. Use only freshly prepared solution. Keep out of reach of children.
