Zytanix 2.5

Zytanix 2.5 from Zydus contains Metolazone, a thiazide-like diuretic (water tablet). Doctors usually prescribe it for swelling or for high blood pressure that needs an extra push along with other medicines.

Metolazone gently blocks salt and water re-absorption in the kidneys, so the body passes out extra fluid through urine. This eases swelling and lowers the load on the heart and blood vessels.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually in the morning to avoid night-time washroom trips. Swallow whole with water and stay well hydrated unless told otherwise.

• Dizziness on standing up
• Muscle cramps
• Low potassium or sodium on blood tests

Tell the doctor if you have gout, diabetes, kidney or liver issues, or are pregnant. Avoid sudden standing to prevent giddiness. Regular blood tests for salts and kidney function may be needed.
