Doxolin-M

Doxolin-M Tablet from Zydus combines Doxofylline (bronchodilator) with Montelukast (leukotriene receptor blocker). It is a prescription medicine used in long-term care of asthma and allied airway problems.

• Long-term control of asthma
• Asthma with allergic component
• Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with allergy
• Exercise-induced wheezing (as prescribed)

Doxofylline relaxes the muscles around the airways so they open and breathing becomes easier. Montelukast blocks chemicals called leukotrienes that cause swelling, mucus and narrowing in the airways, especially in allergic asthma. Together they reduce symptoms and the chance of attacks.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually swallowed whole with water. Many doctors advise the evening dose for better night-time control. Do not stop suddenly even if you feel well; the doctor will guide any changes.

• Headache
• Nausea
• Stomach upset
• Sleep changes or vivid dreams
• Fast or irregular heartbeat
• Mood changes (rare)

Inform the doctor about heart, liver, kidney or thyroid problems, ulcers or epilepsy. Tell the doctor if you notice unusual mood, sleep or behaviour changes. Avoid heavy caffeine. Inform the doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight and moisture. Keep in the original strip and out of reach of children.
