Zosert 50

Zosert 50 is a Sun Pharma tablet containing sertraline, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant. It is prescribed for several mental health conditions where serotonin balance needs support.

• Depression in adults
• Obsessive-compulsive disorder
• Panic disorder and social anxiety
• Post-traumatic stress disorder

Sertraline gently raises the level of serotonin, a mood-related chemical messenger, by stopping nerve cells in the brain from reabsorbing it too quickly. Over a few weeks this helps lift low mood, ease anxious thoughts, and reduce intrusive worries.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, at the same time each day with or without food. Do not stop suddenly even if you feel better, since this can cause withdrawal-like symptoms.

• Nausea, loose stools, or dry mouth
• Sleep changes or drowsiness
• Sexual side effects
• Headache or mild tremor

Tell your doctor about liver problems, bleeding disorders, seizures, or any other psychiatric medication you take. Watch for worsening mood or unusual thoughts in the first few weeks and report them right away.
