About
CTD from Ipca contains chlorthalidone, a thiazide-like diuretic. It is used by doctors mainly to help control high blood pressure.
Uses
- Long-term control of high blood pressure
- Helping reduce fluid build-up in certain conditions
- As part of a doctor-guided blood pressure plan
How it works
Chlorthalidone is a thiazide-like diuretic. It helps the kidneys remove extra salt and water, which lowers the volume of fluid in blood vessels and helps bring blood pressure down.
How to take
Take by mouth with water as prescribed by your doctor, ideally in the morning so it does not disturb your sleep. Try to take it at the same time each day.
Side effects
- Frequent urination, especially at first
- Dizziness or light-headedness
- Low potassium or sodium levels
- Increased blood sugar or uric acid
- Dry mouth or muscle cramps
Precautions
Tell your doctor about kidney or liver problems, gout, diabetes, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Routine blood tests may be needed to keep an eye on salts and sugar levels.
Storage
Store below 25 degrees Celsius in a dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the strip in its pack and out of reach of children.
