Tricinod-10/6.25 from Ajanta Pharma is a triple-combination blood pressure tablet with Cilnidipine (a calcium-channel blocker), Chlorthalidone (a thiazide-like diuretic) and Telmisartan (an angiotensin-receptor blocker). It is used when single or dual therapy is not enough to keep BP in range.

• Hypertension not controlled on one or two drugs

• Reducing strain on heart and kidneys from raised BP

Telmisartan blocks angiotensin II to relax blood vessels. Cilnidipine relaxes vessels further by reducing calcium entry into vessel muscle. Chlorthalidone helps the kidneys flush out extra salt and water. The three together lower BP through different routes.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day in the morning with water. Try to take it at the same time each day and do not stop suddenly.

• Dizziness, especially on standing
• Increased urination at first
• Ankle swelling
• Headache or tiredness
• Changes in sodium or potassium on tests

Tell the doctor about kidney, liver or heart problems, gout, diabetes or low electrolytes. Avoid in pregnancy. Get periodic blood tests for electrolytes and kidney function and have BP checked regularly.

Store below 25°C in the original strip, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
