Product information
About
Telma XX50 from Glenmark is a triple-combination tablet of Telmisartan, Chlorthalidone and a higher Metoprolol strength. It is prescribed when stronger heart-rate control is needed alongside the ARB and diuretic.
Uses
- High blood pressure not controlled by two medicines
- BP with raised heart rate or palpitations, as advised by the doctor
How it works
Telmisartan blocks the angiotensin-II receptor and relaxes blood vessels. Chlorthalidone is a thiazide-like diuretic that helps the kidneys remove extra salt and water. Metoprolol is a beta-blocker that slows the heart and reduces its workload, supporting tighter BP control.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually with or just after food. Swallow whole with water. Do not stop suddenly as the beta-blocker needs gradual tapering.
Side effects
- Slow heart rate
- Tiredness, cold hands and feet
- Dizziness on standing
- Increased urination at the start
- Changes in potassium, sodium or uric acid
Precautions
Tell your doctor about asthma, heart block, severe heart failure, gout, diabetes, liver or kidney disease, or pregnancy. Avoid alcohol and rise slowly from sitting or lying down.
Storage
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place, away from light and moisture. Keep in the original strip and out of reach of children.
