Gluconorm GS Forte 2

Gluconorm GS Forte 2 from Lupin is a triple-action diabetes tablet combining glimepiride (a sulfonylurea), metformin (a biguanide) and sitagliptin (a DPP-4 inhibitor). It is generally prescribed for adults with type 2 diabetes who need three different mechanisms working together.

Glimepiride prompts more insulin release from the pancreas, metformin makes the body more sensitive to insulin and lowers liver sugar output, and sitagliptin protects the natural gut hormones that signal the pancreas to release insulin when sugar is high, especially after meals.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually with a meal. Swallow whole with water and try to keep timings consistent.

• Low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia)
• Stomach upset, nausea or loose motions
• Headache, sore throat or stuffy nose
• Rare joint pain

Tell your doctor about kidney, liver, heart or pancreas problems, and any history of pancreatitis. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take this without specific advice. Carry a sweet for hypo episodes.
