Kenacort 4

Kenacort 4 from Abbott is an oral corticosteroid tablet containing Triamcinolone. It is prescribed for short courses in conditions where the body's inflammation needs to be brought down quickly.

• Severe allergic reactions
• Skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis flare
• Joint pain in arthritis
• Some lung and autoimmune conditions

Triamcinolone is a synthetic glucocorticoid. It lowers the chemical signals in the body that cause swelling, redness and pain, which helps control symptoms in many inflammatory conditions.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually with food or milk to protect the stomach. Do not stop the tablet suddenly; follow the tapering plan your doctor gives you.

• Increased appetite and weight gain
• Mood changes or sleep trouble
• Rise in blood sugar or BP
• Acidity and water retention

Inform the doctor about diabetes, high BP, infections, ulcers, glaucoma or pregnancy. Avoid live vaccines while on treatment. Long-term use needs regular monitoring.

Store below 25°C in a dry place. Keep the strip in the original pack and away from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
