Cetapin V 0.3 mg

Cetapin V is a diabetes tablet from Sanofi that combines metformin (a biguanide) with voglibose (an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor). It is used to help control blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes.

• Add-on therapy when one medicine is not enough

Metformin lowers the amount of sugar made by the liver and helps the body use insulin better. Voglibose slows the breakdown of carbohydrates in the gut, so blood sugar does not rise too quickly after meals.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually with the first bite of a main meal. Do not skip meals while on this medicine.

• Gas, bloating or loose motions
• Stomach discomfort
• Loss of appetite
• Metallic taste in the mouth
• Low blood sugar when used with other diabetes medicines

Tell your doctor about any kidney, liver or heart problems, and if you drink alcohol often. Carry a sugar source in case of low blood sugar. Regular blood sugar and kidney checks are important.
