About
Met XL H 50 from Ajanta is a stronger combination tablet of Metoprolol with Hydrochlorothiazide. It is prescribed for adults with high blood pressure that needs both a beta-blocker and a mild diuretic.
Uses
- High blood pressure (hypertension)
- Hypertension with mild fluid build-up
How it works
Metoprolol blocks adrenaline action on the heart, slowing rate and easing its workload. Hydrochlorothiazide helps the kidneys remove extra salt and water, reducing the load on the circulation. The two together give smoother BP control.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor, ideally in the morning so the extra urination does not disturb sleep. Swallow whole with water at the same time each day.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about asthma, gout, diabetes, kidney or liver disease, or pregnancy. Drink plenty of fluids and report severe weakness or palpitations. Do not stop suddenly.
