About
Istamet D XR 1000 from Sun Pharma is an extended-release triple combination of sitagliptin, metformin and dapagliflozin for type 2 diabetes management.
Uses

How it works
Sitagliptin boosts insulin release after meals, metformin lowers sugar produced by the liver in a slow-release form, and dapagliflozin removes extra sugar through urine.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily with the evening meal. Swallow whole with water and do not crush or chew.
Side effects
- Urinary or genital infections
- Stomach upset or nausea
- Diarrhoea
- Low blood sugar with other diabetes drugs
Precautions
Tell your doctor about kidney, liver or heart issues and any history of pancreatitis. Stay hydrated and watch for signs of dehydration. Inform your doctor before scans with dye.
