About
Embeta XR 12.5 from Intas is a low-strength extended-release tablet of metoprolol succinate, a selective beta-1 blocker. It is often used as a starter dose or in people who need very gentle heart-rate control.
Uses
- High blood pressure

- Long-term angina (chest pain)
- Some types of irregular heartbeat
How it works
It blocks beta-1 receptors in the heart, slowing the heart rate and softening the strength of each beat. This drops blood pressure and lightens the workload on the heart.
How to take
Swallow the tablet whole with water, as prescribed by your doctor. Do not break or chew it. Take it at about the same time each day, usually with food.

Precautions
