Met XL AM 50/5

Met XL AM 50/5 from Dushath Pharma is a fixed-dose heart and blood-pressure tablet that brings together two well-known medicines, Metoprolol and Amlodipine. It is widely prescribed for adults whose blood pressure does not settle with a single drug.

• High blood pressure (hypertension)
• Chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart (angina)
• To ease the workload on the heart

Metoprolol is a beta-blocker that slows the heart rate and lowers the force of each beat, so the heart needs less oxygen. Amlodipine is a calcium-channel blocker that relaxes and widens the blood vessels. Together they bring blood pressure down smoothly and protect the heart.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, swallowed whole with water, preferably at the same time each day. Do not stop suddenly even if you feel better, as that can cause a sharp rise in blood pressure.

• Tiredness or mild dizziness
• Slow heartbeat
• Ankle swelling or flushing
• Headache
• Cold hands and feet

Tell your doctor if you have asthma, severe heart block, very slow pulse, low blood pressure, liver problems, or are pregnant. Avoid sudden standing up to prevent giddiness. Limit alcohol while on this medicine.

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep in the original strip and out of the reach of children.
