Torhisgo from Torrent contains betahistine, a medicine that mimics histamine in the inner ear. It is used to manage the spinning sensation and ear symptoms of Meniere's disease.

• Vertigo episodes in Meniere's disease

• Hearing loss linked to Meniere's disease

Betahistine improves blood flow in the inner ear and balances pressure of the fluid inside it. By acting on histamine receptors, it reduces signals that cause the spinning feeling and the related ear pressure.

Swallow the tablet whole with water, preferably with or after meals to reduce stomach upset. Take it as prescribed by your doctor, even on days you feel well.

Not suitable in active peptic ulcer or pheochromocytoma. Use cautiously in asthma. Tell your doctor about pregnancy, breastfeeding or any antihistamine you are taking, as effects may overlap. Continue treatment as advised; benefits usually build up over weeks.
