Deriphyllin Injection from Zydus combines etofylline and theophylline, two xanthine derivatives that work together to ease breathing in acute respiratory situations. It is given by a clinician when faster relief is needed for narrowed airways.

Both molecules belong to the methylxanthine family. They relax the smooth muscle lining the airways and open up the breathing tubes, which helps air move in and out more freely.

This is an injection administered by a doctor or nurse in a clinical setting, as prescribed by your doctor. Do not self-administer.

• Nausea or stomach upset
• Fast or irregular heartbeat
• Headache, restlessness or trouble sleeping
• Tremor in the hands

Tell your doctor about heart issues, ulcers, seizures, thyroid problems, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid heavy caffeine while on this medicine. Blood-level monitoring may be needed for long-term use.
