Orcerin GM from Macleods is a combination tablet for people dealing with osteoarthritis. It brings together diacerein, glucosamine and MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) to support sore, stiff joints. The mix aims to ease pain, support cartilage health and improve everyday movement.

Diacerein lowers the activity of interleukin-1, a chemical involved in joint inflammation and cartilage breakdown. Glucosamine is a natural building block of cartilage and helps support its repair, while MSM provides sulfur that joints use and may have a mild anti-inflammatory effect. Together they target both pain and joint health.

Take as prescribed by your doctor. Tablets are usually swallowed whole with a glass of water, preferably with food to reduce stomach upset. Benefits often build up over several weeks, so regular use as advised is important.

• Loose stools or diarrhoea, especially early on
• Mild stomach discomfort, nausea or indigestion
• Yellow-tinted urine, which is harmless
• Skin rash or itching in some people
• Headache or mild dizziness

Let your doctor know if you have liver, kidney or bowel problems, are allergic to shellfish (as glucosamine is often derived from it), or are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is not generally recommended for children. Tell your doctor about all other medicines you take.

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep tablets in the original strip and out of reach of children.
