Alensol D

Alensol D combines Alendronic Acid 70 mg (a bisphosphonate for bone strength) with Vitamin D3 5600 IU in a once-weekly tablet. It is used to treat and prevent osteoporosis, especially in post-menopausal women.

• Post-menopausal osteoporosis
• Steroid-induced bone loss
• Vitamin D deficiency with bone weakness
• Reducing fracture risk

Alendronic acid sticks to bone and slows down the cells that break bone down, helping the body keep more bone. Vitamin D3 helps the gut absorb calcium so the bones get the building blocks they need.

Take as prescribed by your doctor — typically once a week, first thing in the morning on an empty stomach with a full glass of plain water. Stay upright (sit or stand) for at least 30 minutes and do not eat, drink or take other medicines during that time.

• Stomach upset, acidity, heartburn
• Muscle or joint aches
• Headache
• Rare: jaw bone problems with long use

Do not lie down for half an hour after taking. Inform your doctor about acidity, ulcer, swallowing problems, low blood calcium or dental procedures planned. Get calcium levels and kidney function checked periodically.

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from sunlight and children.
