Product information
About
Loftair from Lupin combines Indacaterol, a long-acting beta-2 agonist (LABA), with Glycopyrrolate, a long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA). It belongs to the dual bronchodilator inhalation therapy class used in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Uses
- Long-term maintenance of COPD
- Helps relieve breathlessness and wheeze
- Improves day-to-day breathing capacity
How it works
Indacaterol relaxes the airway muscles by stimulating beta-2 receptors, while glycopyrrolate blocks the muscarinic receptors that tighten airways. Together they open the airways through two complementary paths.
How to take
Inhale the contents of the capsule using the supplied inhaler device as prescribed by your doctor. The capsules are for inhalation only and must not be swallowed.
Side effects
- Dry mouth or throat irritation
- Cough after inhalation
- Headache or fast heartbeat
- Urinary discomfort in some users
Precautions
Not meant for sudden breathing attacks; keep a rescue inhaler for that. Tell your doctor about heart problems, glaucoma, prostate issues, thyroid disease, or pregnancy. Rinse the mouth after each dose to reduce throat irritation.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place in the original blister until use. Keep the inhaler clean and the capsules out of reach of children.
