Librium 5 15 tab

Librium 5 from Abbott contains Chlordiazepoxide, one of the original benzodiazepine medicines. It is prescribed by doctors for short-term relief of severe anxiety and to help during alcohol withdrawal.

Chlordiazepoxide acts on calming chemical messengers in the brain called GABA. By boosting their action it slows down over-active nerve signals, which eases anxiety, tension and the shakes seen during alcohol withdrawal.

Take as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not stop suddenly after long use, as the doctor will usually taper the dose down.

• Drowsiness or daytime sleepiness
• Unsteady walking
• Confusion, especially in the elderly
• Dry mouth
• Dependence with long-term use

This is a Schedule X medicine and habit-forming, so use only under medical supervision. Avoid alcohol and do not drive or operate machinery. Tell your doctor about any liver, kidney or breathing problems, and inform if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Store below 25 degrees Celsius in a dry place, away from sunlight. Keep in the original strip and out of reach of children.
