Amitone Forte 10 tab

Amitone Forte combines amitriptyline with chlordiazepoxide and is prescribed for depression that comes with significant anxiety or tension. As a Schedule X medicine, it is dispensed only against a doctor's prescription with strict record keeping.

Amitriptyline raises serotonin and noradrenaline in the brain to lift mood, while chlordiazepoxide, a benzodiazepine, enhances the calming chemical GABA so anxiety, tension and agitation are reduced.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually at night. Swallow whole with water. Use for the shortest possible time to lower the risk of dependence.

• Memory or concentration problems

Tell your doctor about lung, liver or kidney problems, glaucoma, prostate issues or any history of substance use. Do not stop suddenly. Avoid alcohol completely and do not drive until you know how it affects you.

Store below 25 degrees Celsius in a dry place away from light and out of reach of children. Keep secure due to Schedule X classification.
