Depsonil 25 10 tab

Depsonil 25 from Abbott contains Imipramine, a tricyclic antidepressant. Doctors prescribe it for depression and certain other conditions like bedwetting in children and chronic nerve pain.

• Depression
• Bedwetting in children (nocturnal enuresis)
• Certain types of chronic nerve pain
• Panic disorder in selected cases

Imipramine increases the levels of certain brain chemicals like serotonin and noradrenaline. This helps improve mood, sleep and energy in depression, and also reduces nerve signals in bedwetting and pain.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually with or after food to reduce stomach upset. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not stop suddenly, as this can cause withdrawal symptoms.

• Dry mouth and constipation
• Drowsiness
• Blurred vision
• Weight gain
• Dizziness on standing up

Tell the doctor about heart problems, glaucoma, prostate issues, seizures, liver/kidney disease or pregnancy. Avoid alcohol and do not drive until you know how the medicine affects you. Effects on mood may take 2 to 4 weeks to appear.

Store below 25 degrees Celsius in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. Keep in the original strip and out of reach of children.
