Linares M from Eris Lifesciences is a fixed-dose tablet of Metformin and Linagliptin. It is prescribed by doctors for adults with type 2 diabetes who need two medicines together for better blood sugar control.

Metformin reduces the sugar produced by the liver and makes body cells more sensitive to insulin. Linagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor that helps the pancreas release more insulin after meals and lowers the sugar made by the liver. Together they offer steadier blood sugar control.

Take as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, preferably with or just after meals to reduce stomach upset.

• Low blood sugar when combined with other diabetes medicines

Inform your doctor about kidney, liver or pancreas problems and any past lactic acidosis. Avoid heavy alcohol use. Pause before scans with contrast dye or major surgery, as advised by the doctor. Check sugar regularly.
