Valprol Syrup 200 ml

Valprol Syrup from Intas Pharmaceuticals is a liquid formulation of Sodium Valproate, an antiepileptic medicine. The syrup form is helpful for children and people who find swallowing tablets difficult.

• Treatment and prevention of certain seizure types
• Used in bipolar mood disorders in select cases
• Sometimes used for migraine prevention

Sodium valproate works mainly by raising GABA — a calming chemical messenger in the brain — and steadying the electrical signals that can trigger seizures.

Measure the dose with the cup or syringe provided and take it as prescribed by your doctor. Giving it with or just after food can reduce stomach upset. Shake the bottle gently before use.

• Mild nausea, vomiting or tummy ache
• Sleepiness, dizziness or tremor
• Appetite changes or weight gain
• Rare but serious liver or pancreas reactions — get medical help if jaundice, dark urine or severe belly pain appears

Not suitable during pregnancy due to risk of birth defects. Tell your doctor about liver problems, other medicines, or any family history of metabolic disease. Do not stop the syrup suddenly.

Store below 25 degrees C, away from direct sunlight. Keep the bottle tightly closed and out of children's reach. Use within the time advised after opening.
