Product information
About
Zen Retard 300 from Intas is a sustained-release carbamazepine tablet used to control seizures and certain nerve pain conditions, with the medicine released slowly for steadier blood levels.
Uses
- Helps control epileptic seizures
- Eases sharp facial nerve pain (trigeminal neuralgia)
- May be used as add-on therapy in some mood disorders
How it works
Carbamazepine is an anticonvulsant that stabilises sodium channels in nerve cells, calming the bursts of electrical activity that drive seizures and certain types of nerve pain.
How to take
Swallow the tablet whole with water, preferably with food, as prescribed by your doctor. Do not crush, split, or chew the sustained-release tablet.
Side effects
- Drowsiness and dizziness
- Nausea or vomiting
- Blurred or double vision
- Skin rash
- Unsteady walking
Precautions
Mention any liver, kidney, heart, or bone marrow issues, and earlier skin reactions to medicines. Avoid alcohol. Use cautiously in pregnancy and breastfeeding. Do not stop suddenly as this may trigger seizures.
Storage
Store below 25 degrees C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. Keep in the original pack and out of reach of children.
