Frext 50

Frext 50 from Intas contains fluvoxamine, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). It is prescribed for conditions where mood or anxiety-related thoughts and behaviours need steady, ongoing treatment.

• Obsessive-compulsive disorder
• Major depressive disorder
• Some anxiety disorders as advised by a specialist

Fluvoxamine helps keep more serotonin, a mood-related chemical messenger, available between nerve cells in the brain. Over weeks, this can ease intrusive thoughts, low mood and anxiety.

Swallow the tablet whole with water, as prescribed by your doctor, usually in the evening. Do not stop suddenly; your doctor will guide any change in treatment.

• Dry mouth
• Reduced interest in sex

Tell your doctor about liver problems, seizures, bipolar illness, or any other medicines, especially other antidepressants, blood thinners or migraine drugs. Watch closely for changes in mood or any thoughts of self-harm, especially early in treatment.

Store below 25 degrees Celsius in the original blister, away from heat and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
