Lamepil 50

Lamepil 50 is a prescription medicine from Ipca Laboratories. Each tablet contains lamotrigine, an anti-epileptic medicine used in seizure control and mood stabilisation.

• Helps control certain types of seizures in epilepsy
• Used as add-on therapy in epilepsy
• Used in bipolar disorder to help prevent mood episodes

Lamotrigine is thought to calm overactive electrical signals in the brain by stabilising nerve cell membranes, which helps reduce seizures and mood swings.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, swallowed whole with water. Follow the gradual dose build-up your doctor recommends; do not stop suddenly.

• Skin rash (tell your doctor immediately)
• Headache, dizziness or drowsiness
• Nausea or blurred vision

Inform your doctor of all medicines you take, especially other anti-epileptics or oral contraceptives. Seek urgent medical care if a rash, fever or mouth sores develop. Use with caution in pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Store below 25 degrees Celsius in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. Keep in the original strip and out of reach of children.
