Lamotrinol 100

Lamotrinol 100 is a prescription tablet from Indigen that contains lamotrigine, a well-known anti-epileptic and mood-stabilising medicine.

• Helps control seizures in epilepsy
• Used as add-on therapy with other anti-epileptics
• Used to help prevent mood episodes in bipolar disorder

Lamotrigine is believed to steady electrical activity in the brain by acting on sodium channels in nerve cells, which helps reduce abnormal firing that triggers seizures and mood swings.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, swallowed whole with water. The dose is usually built up slowly; do not change the dose or stop suddenly without medical advice.

• Headache, dizziness or sleepiness
• Nausea, double vision or unsteadiness

Tell your doctor about all other medicines, especially valproate or hormonal contraceptives. Watch for any new rash, fever or mood changes and report them. Use with care in pregnancy and breastfeeding.
