Benfomet Plus

Benfomet Plus from Sun Pharma combines benfotiamine (a fat-soluble vitamin B1), metformin (a common diabetes medicine) and myo-inositol. It is used to support blood sugar control along with nerve protection in people with diabetes.

Metformin reduces glucose production by the liver and helps the body use insulin better, lowering blood sugar. Benfotiamine nourishes nerve cells and helps protect them from damage caused by high sugar. Myo-inositol supports insulin signalling and contributes to normal nerve function.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, swallowed whole with water, usually with or just after food to reduce stomach upset.

Not suitable in severe kidney or liver disease, or when there is a risk of lactic acidosis. Tell your doctor about pregnancy, breastfeeding, contrast scans or alcohol use. Continue diet, exercise and regular sugar checks.
