Product information
About
A daily calcium and vitamin D3 supplement made for adults whose diet, sun exposure or age may not be enough to keep bones strong. Each tablet pairs calcium — the mineral your bones and teeth are mostly made of — with vitamin D3, which is what helps your gut actually absorb that calcium. Comes as a 60-tablet bottle, enough for around two months of once-daily use.
Uses
- Daily support for bone strength and density
- Help in preventing or managing osteoporosis
- Topping up calcium when diet alone falls short
- Older adults at risk of weaker bones or falls
- Women after menopause when bone-loss speeds up
How it works
Vitamin D3 turns on the cells in your intestine that pull calcium out of food and supplements. Without enough vitamin D, even a calcium-rich diet may absorb poorly. Together they give the bones what they need to stay strong.
How to take
Take one tablet a day with food — calcium absorbs better with a meal, and food also cuts down on stomach upset. If you take thyroid medicine, separate the two by at least 4 hours, because calcium can block thyroid absorption. Follow your doctor's advice on how long to continue.
Side effects
- Mild constipation or gas
- Bloating, especially when starting
- Occasional nausea
- Rare: kidney stones with very high long-term doses
Precautions
Speak to your doctor before starting if you have kidney stones, kidney disease, or a heart condition. Don't take more than the recommended dose — too much calcium with vitamin D can raise blood calcium to harmful levels. If you take any prescription medicine, mention it to your pharmacist, as calcium can interfere with antibiotics, thyroid hormone, and blood-pressure tablets. Safe during pregnancy at recommended doses but ask your doctor first.
Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from sunlight and out of reach of children.
