The active ingredient blocks an enzyme in the liver that makes cholesterol. With production slowed, the liver pulls more cholesterol from the blood, helping keep your arteries clearer over time.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day with water. It can be taken with or without food, ideally at the same time each day.

Tell your doctor about liver disease, thyroid issues, or heavy alcohol use. Report unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or dark urine right away. Avoid large amounts of grapefruit juice while on this medicine.
