ATR 80 10 tab

ATR 80 from Knoll contains atorvastatin 80 mg, a high-strength cholesterol-lowering tablet. It belongs to the statin family of medicines and is used to manage high cholesterol and protect the heart.

• Lowering high LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglycerides
• Reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke in high-risk patients
• Long-term management after a previous cardiac event

Atorvastatin blocks an enzyme in the liver called HMG-CoA reductase, which the body uses to make cholesterol. Less cholesterol is produced, LDL is cleared faster from the blood, and HDL (good cholesterol) gets a small lift. Over time this slows the build-up of plaque in arteries.

Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually once a day in the evening, with or without food. Swallow whole with water.

• Muscle pain, tenderness or weakness (tell your doctor if severe)
• Stomach upset, diarrhoea or constipation
• Headache
• Mild rise in liver enzymes
• Joint pain

Avoid in pregnancy and breastfeeding. Do not take if you have active liver disease. Limit grapefruit juice. Tell your doctor about any kidney problems, thyroid issues or other medicines you take. Periodic liver and muscle (CPK) tests may be advised. Report unexplained muscle pain or dark urine promptly.

Store below 25 degrees Celsius in a dry place, away from sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
