About
Newshine Cream is a combination skin cream containing hydroquinone, tretinoin, and mometasone. This kind of triple combination is used under medical guidance for certain pigmentation problems such as melasma.
Uses
- Helps lighten dark patches like melasma
- Used as prescribed by your doctor for uneven skin tone
- Short-term treatment of specific facial pigmentation
How it works
Hydroquinone reduces the formation of melanin, the pigment that darkens the skin. Tretinoin, a vitamin A derivative, speeds up cell turnover so pigmented cells are shed faster. Mometasone is a steroid that helps calm any irritation from the other two ingredients.
How to take
Apply a thin layer to the dark patches at night, exactly as prescribed by your doctor, on clean and dry skin. Use sunscreen during the day, since the skin becomes more sensitive to sunlight while on this cream.
Side effects
- Redness, dryness, or peeling
- Burning or stinging on application
- Increased sensitivity to sunlight
- With long use, thinning of the skin
Precautions
This is a prescription cream and should not be used on its own for long periods. Avoid use during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless your doctor advises it. Stay out of strong sunlight and always pair with a broad-spectrum sunscreen. Stop and consult your doctor if irritation is severe.
Storage
Keep the tube tightly closed at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep out of reach of children.
