I PILL

I-Pill from Piramal is an emergency contraceptive tablet containing Levonorgestrel. It is meant to be taken by a woman after unprotected intercourse or a contraceptive failure to lower the chance of pregnancy.

• Emergency contraception within 72 hours of unprotected sex
• Back-up when a regular contraceptive method has failed

Levonorgestrel is a synthetic progestogen hormone. It mainly delays or stops the release of an egg from the ovary and also makes it harder for sperm to reach an egg, which reduces the chance of pregnancy.

Take as prescribed by your doctor or as printed on the pack. Swallow with water, with or without food. The sooner it is taken after unprotected sex, the better it works. It is not meant for regular birth control.

• Nausea or vomiting
• Lower-abdomen cramps
• Tiredness or headache
• Spotting or change in next period date
• Breast tenderness

Not for routine contraception. Does not protect against sexually transmitted infections. Speak to a doctor if your next period is delayed by more than a week or if you have severe lower-belly pain. Avoid in known or suspected pregnancy.

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep in the original pack and out of reach of children.
