Suganril Tablets from Abbott contain Piroxicam, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicine. Doctors prescribe it for joint pain, swelling and stiffness in many forms of arthritis and other painful conditions.

• Osteoarthritis (joint wear and tear)
• Rheumatoid arthritis
• Ankylosing spondylitis (back stiffness)
• Acute gout attacks
• Short-term musculoskeletal pain

Piroxicam belongs to the NSAID family. It blocks an enzyme called cyclo-oxygenase (COX), which the body uses to make prostaglandins. Lower prostaglandins mean less pain, swelling and inflammation in the affected joint or tissue.

Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually with food or a glass of milk to reduce stomach upset. Swallow the tablet whole with water and do not crush it.

• Stomach pain or burning
• Nausea or indigestion
• Loose motions
• Headache or dizziness
• Mild skin rash

Tell your doctor about ulcer disease, asthma, kidney or heart problems before use. Avoid alcohol during treatment. Long-term use may need regular monitoring. Not recommended in pregnancy, especially the third trimester.

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. Keep tablets in the original strip until use. Keep out of reach of children.
