Orasep Gel from Elan Pharma is an oral gel that brings together two well-known ingredients to help calm a sore, painful mouth. Choline salicylate is an anti-inflammatory that takes down swelling and discomfort, while lignocaine is a local anaesthetic that quickly numbs the area you apply it to. It is widely used for mouth ulcers, denture sores and other minor oral irritations.

• Painful mouth ulcers and aphthous sores
• Sore spots from dentures or braces
• Minor gum and inner-cheek irritation
• Teething-related discomfort, when advised

Choline salicylate reduces inflammation in the soft tissues of the mouth, easing redness and tenderness. Lignocaine blocks pain signals in the nerves under the surface, giving fast, short-lived numbing relief while the area heals.

Use as prescribed by your doctor or dentist. Usually a small amount of gel is gently massaged onto the sore area with a clean fingertip. Try not to eat or drink for a short while after applying, so the gel has time to work.
