About
Dermiford Cream from Leeford Healthcare is a four-in-one prescription topical that brings together an antifungal, a steroid, an antibiotic and an antiprotozoal in a single tube. It is prescribed for mixed skin infections where more than one cause is suspected.
Uses
- Mixed fungal and bacterial skin infections
- Inflamed ringworm, athlete's foot or jock itch
- Other complicated skin infections as advised by your doctor
How it works
Terbinafine kills the fungi that drive ringworm-type infections. Clobetasol is a strong corticosteroid that calms redness, itching and swelling. Ofloxacin is a quinolone antibiotic that targets bacteria, while ornidazole tackles certain anaerobic and protozoal organisms. Together they aim at infections with several layers.
How to take
Apply a thin layer to the cleaned, dry affected area and the skin just around it, as prescribed by your doctor. Wash hands before and after, unless the hand is the area being treated.
Side effects
- Burning, stinging or itching at the site
- Dryness or peeling
- Thinning of skin or stretch marks with long use
- Increased hair growth at the site
- Rare allergic reaction
Precautions
This cream contains a potent steroid and is not for long-term or whole-body use. Avoid the face, underarms, groin and broken skin unless your doctor specifically advises it. Not for children, pregnant or breastfeeding women without a doctor's guidance. Do not cover with airtight dressings.
Storage
Store below 25°C, away from direct sunlight. Keep the tube closed. Keep out of reach of children.
