Ibandrox 150

Ibandrox 150 contains Ibandronic Acid, a bisphosphonate medicine used to treat and prevent osteoporosis (thinning of bones) in women after menopause. It helps make bones stronger and reduces the chance of fractures.

• Post-menopausal osteoporosis
• Prevention of fractures of the spine in osteoporosis
• Bone-thinning related to long-term steroid use, when prescribed

Ibandronic acid attaches to the bone surface and slows down the cells that break bone (osteoclasts). This keeps more of the existing bone in place and lets the body slowly rebuild bone strength.

Take as prescribed by your doctor. The tablet is usually swallowed whole with a full glass of plain water, first thing in the morning. Sit or stand upright for at least one hour after and do not eat, drink or take other medicines in that time.

• Heartburn or stomach upset
• Muscle, joint or bone pain
• Headache
• Flu-like feeling after the first dose
• Rarely, jaw bone or thigh bone problems on long use

Tell your doctor about any dental work planned, low calcium, kidney problems or trouble swallowing. Do not lie down for at least one hour after the dose. Calcium and vitamin D are often advised alongside.

Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from sunlight and moisture. Keep in the original strip and out of reach of children.
