Ecosprin AV 150

Ecosprin AV 150 from USV is a fixed-dose combination capsule containing atorvastatin 10 mg and aspirin 150 mg. It pairs a statin lipid-lowering agent with a salicylate antiplatelet to address two major cardiovascular risk factors in one daily dose.

Atorvastatin blocks the HMG-CoA reductase enzyme in the liver, lowering LDL cholesterol and stabilising arterial plaques. Aspirin irreversibly inhibits platelet cyclooxygenase, reducing thromboxane A2 and making platelets less likely to clump and form clots.

Swallow the capsule whole with water, usually at night with or after food, as prescribed by your doctor. Avoid grapefruit juice in large amounts and do not stop the medicine suddenly without advice.

• Muscle aches, weakness or rare rise in liver enzymes

Tell your doctor about liver disease, ulcers, asthma, bleeding disorders, pregnancy or breastfeeding. Report unexplained muscle pain, dark urine, yellowing of skin or eyes, black stools or vomiting blood. Avoid combining with other blood thinners or NSAIDs without advice.

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep in the original strip and out of reach of children.
