Lonitab 10 from Intas contains minoxidil, originally developed as a vasodilator for difficult-to-control high blood pressure. At this strength it is reserved for hypertension that has not responded to other agents.

• Used alongside a diuretic and beta-blocker
• Specialist-directed long-term blood pressure control

Minoxidil relaxes the muscle in artery walls, widening them so blood flows with less resistance. This lowers blood pressure, though it is usually combined with other drugs to balance fluid retention and heart rate.

Take as prescribed by your doctor with a glass of water. Do not stop suddenly, since blood pressure can rebound, and keep all follow-up appointments for monitoring.

Tell your doctor about heart, kidney, or pericardial disease, and report breathlessness or chest pain promptly. This tablet is for blood pressure use and is different from minoxidil applied to the scalp.
