About
Duvadilan from Abbott contains Isoxsuprine, a vasodilator medicine. It is used to improve blood flow and is sometimes prescribed in pregnancy to relax the uterus.
Uses
- Threatened or premature labour (to relax the uterus)
- Poor circulation in arms and legs
- Some peripheral vascular conditions
How it works
Isoxsuprine relaxes the smooth muscle in blood vessels and the uterus by acting on beta-adrenergic receptors. This widens the vessels, improves blood flow, and can ease uterine contractions.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.
Side effects
- Fast heart beat
- Low blood pressure
- Dizziness or weakness
- Nausea or vomiting
- Flushing
Precautions
Tell your doctor if you have heart disease, low blood pressure, recent bleeding, or thyroid problems. Stand up slowly to avoid dizziness. Regular check-ups may be needed during pregnancy use.
Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place, away from sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
