About
Tidilan Retard from Bharat Serums and Vaccines (BSV) is a sustained-release tablet containing Isoxsuprine, a vasodilator. It is often prescribed in pregnancy-related conditions and in problems where blood vessels are too tight.
Uses
- Threatened or premature labour
- Poor blood circulation in hands and feet
- Raynaud's phenomenon
- Cerebral vascular disease
How it works
Isoxsuprine belongs to the beta-adrenergic agonist group. It relaxes the smooth muscle of blood vessels and the uterus, which widens the blood vessels, improves blood flow, and helps quieten uterine contractions.
How to take
Take as prescribed by your doctor, swallowed whole with water. Do not crush, chew, or break the sustained-release tablet. Take it at around the same time each day.
Side effects
- Fast heartbeat or palpitations
- Low blood pressure or dizziness
- Flushing
- Nausea or vomiting
- Tremor
Precautions
Tell the doctor about heart disease, recent bleeding, or low blood pressure before starting. Get up slowly from sitting or lying down to avoid dizziness. Not for use right after delivery if there is heavy bleeding.
Storage
Keep below 25 degrees C in a dry place, away from sunlight and moisture. Keep in the original strip. Keep out of reach of children.
