About
Dermobest KT Cream is a prescription combination topical with two antifungal agents, an antibiotic and a potent steroid. It is used when a skin infection is itchy, red and likely to involve both fungal and bacterial elements.
Uses
- Mixed fungal and bacterial skin infections
- Inflamed ringworm, athlete's foot, jock itch
- Other complicated skin infections as advised by your doctor
How it works
Ketoconazole is an azole antifungal that disrupts the fungal cell membrane, while tolnaftate is another antifungal that supports its action. Neomycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that targets surface bacteria. Clobetasol is a strong corticosteroid that quickly calms redness, swelling and itching.
How to take
Apply a thin layer on the cleaned, dry affected area and just around it, as prescribed by your doctor. Wash your hands before and after use, unless the hand is the area being treated.
Side effects
- Burning, stinging or itching at the site
- Dryness or peeling
- Skin thinning or stretch marks with long use
- Rare allergic skin reaction
Precautions
This cream contains a potent steroid and is for short, supervised courses only. Avoid the face, folds and broken skin unless your doctor agrees. Not for routine use in children, pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice. Do not cover with airtight dressings.
Storage
Store below 25°C, away from direct light. Cap tightly after use. Keep out of reach of children.
